The University of Surrey offers housing services to its students. There are over 4600 rooms in 10 ‘Courts’ (the halls of residence). All the Courts are self-catering and each group of rooms or flat shares a kitchen/dining room. Applicants can choose their preferred band of accommodation and location. There are specially adapted rooms for students with physical impairments or other special needs. Overseas students are guaranteed a place in accommodation for the normal duration of their course if they apply by the published application deadline. Rooms are banded from A – E for price and amenities.
Band A: ‘Band A’ rooms are split level shared rooms. There are 389 rooms with amenities including broadband, telephone and possessions insurance.
Band B: ‘Band B’ rooms are basic single rooms on campus in Guildford Court and off campus at Hazel Farm Court. All 412 rooms have washbasins and have recently had a facelift with new furniture and carpet.
Band C: ‘Band C’ rooms are standard single rooms with washbasins. There are a total of 1424 such rooms in six courts.
Band D: ‘Band D’ rooms are en-suite rooms in modern buildings at Manor Park and on campus. All 982 rooms on campus and 1319 at Manor Park have en-suite shower rooms.
Band E: ‘Band E’ rooms are enhanced en-suite rooms. They are approximately 50 percent bigger than band D rooms, ideal for students who have more belongings or want more space to study or relax. There are 27 rooms on campus and 38 rooms at Manor Park.
